Fundraising
Wariapendi Nursery is a well-established local nursery that is committed to addressing environmental imbalances in our region. We are endeavouring to do our small bit for the planet and we encourage others to do the same.
In today’s world, climatic change and financial pressures are affecting all. Reducing carbon footprints and protecting natural bio-diversity whilst educating our children and the community makes sense. Raising funds for local schools whilst achieving these objectives also makes sense.
To help realise these goals we propose the following concept to you and your school community.
It is a simple proposition that can be circulated via your school newsletter / notice board / website etc with no other contribution on your part. We will take care of all aspects of record keeping and all you need to do is collect plants from our nursery at Colo Vale for planting in or around your school or utilise a gift voucher for fund raising. We can also assist with promotional material if required.
Our offer to Schools is as follows:
- For every person that purchases plants from the nursery, and advises us of the school they would like to donate to, we will allocate 5c in every dollar spent on plants to their chosen school. e.g. $100 spent on plants, equals a donation of $5 worth of plants to your school
- We shall keep a record of the tally for your school and update it fortnightly onto our website. When you are ready to do some planting or fundraising, you can check your tally and then visit the nursery for your free plants or gift voucher.
- All we ask of you is to circulate this offer to parents of the school and the wider community – anywhere you’d like to – and make sure they mention the name of your school to our staff.
If you would like to participate and accept our offer a authorised representative from the school or P & C can register online here or contact us via email here. We shall then set up a credit account for you to start immediately. Thereafter whenever a sale is made at our nursery and the purchaser gives us the name of your school, you can start to watch your credits grow. As more people in your community know of this offer, the better for your school and our objectives as above.
For each school that participates we also offer a free professional consultation by one of our landscape designers to assess the landscape in your school and offer suggestions to remedy any shortfalls as to shade and shelter, bio-diversity values and presentation.
